Danse Lumière Concludes Sausalito Performance

Danse Lumière was delighted to present an afternoon of dance, literature, and live music at the Sausalito Center for the Arts, bringing together works inspired by James Joyce and Emily Dickinson.
Following the European premiere of James Joyce Ballet in Dublin, this Bay Area performance continued Danse Lumière’s exploration of literary works through movement, voice, and music. The program featured guest artist Max Barker of American Ballet Theatre, alongside artists whose performances brought intimacy, lyricism, and theatrical depth to the space.

Seen alongside the recent Sausalito performance, these photographs offer a glimpse into the company’s long-standing engagement with poetry, movement, music, and theatrical storytelling.
More than two decades later, Emily Dickinson’s world continues to resonate in Danse Lumière’s work — through the body, the voice, and the quiet power of performance.
