With COVID-19 orders to stay home, many dance artists find their performance and teaching jobs cancelled indefinitely.
I am a professional choreographer and director with Danse Lumière and I am making a daily practice of dancing at sites in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’ve asked strangers to film me with their phones from at least six feet away.
Through this process, community is strengthened. This journey has led me, for example, to experience dancing on the Golden Gate Bridge when no one else was there. This is unprecedented.
